The original story of the Firebird has been orally transmitted across centuries and cultures. This folk tale requires a multi-layered, transdisciplinary approach to fully appreciate its artistic context. The mystical bird of a thousand voices serves as a beautiful metaphor for our times: a world seeking connection and harmony, yet confronted with ecological, psychological, and spiritual crises.

latest ALBUM: THE BIRD OF A THOUSAND VOICES
After a triple sold-out world premiere at the Holland Festival in Amsterdam (June 2024), The Bird of a Thousand Voices continues to soar. In 2025, it returns to the stage at De Singel (Antwerp) and Gorki Theater (Berlin), with a grand Armenian premiere at the Yerevan Opera in preparation. A global tour is underway—letting The Bird take flight and unite a thousand voices worldwide.
This genre-defying work blends live music, digitally programmed voices, a bilingual libretto, immersive light, kinetic art, and shadow play into a poetic exploration of rebirth and self-discovery. Inspired by the ancient Armenian tale Hazaran Blbul – Հազարան Բլբուլ, the story reflects on harmony through sacrifice and transformation.
Created by Tigran with director Ruben Van Leer, scenographer Boris Acket, singer-performer Areni Agbabian, and a visionary international team, the music theater piece offers an immersive experience for all who seek the transformative power of art and myth.

Alongside the live stage work, The Bird of a Thousand Voices extends into film with two music videos now streaming on Tigran’s YouTube channel, directed by Ruben Van Leer. The latest release, Sing Me a Song (When You Will Be at the Place Where All Is Bliss) presents a sensorial deep-dive into myth, memory, and the liminal space between ruin and rebirth. Together with the first chapter The Quest Begins, these short films explore a timeless search for renewal, starring Samvel Tadevossian and camerawork by Ezra Reverda. Both chapters form part of a larger film, currently in development for release at international festivals.
